California Micro Devices Launches Centurion™ ESD Protection Array
for Wireless Handsets and LCD Modules
Low Capacitance, Highly Integrated, CSP Format CM1220 Saves Critical Board Space

MILPITAS, Calif., -- March 28, 2005 -- California Micro Devices (NASDAQ: CAMD) today announced the Centurion™ CM1220 low capacitance Zener diode array for electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection in space saving CSP (chip scale package) format for wireless handsets and LCD modules. Utilizing proprietary Centurion™ Zener process technology, the CM1220 features an industry leading low input capacitance of 14pF, and protects ESD strikes up to ±15kV contact discharge. California Micro Devices’ Centurion™ process provides a higher level of ESD protection with lower input capacitance and dynamic resistance than previous and competitors’ solutions. The CM1220 is offered in 4 and 8 channel configurations.

Robust ESD Performance
Mobile electronic devices are constantly handled, often resulting in potentially damaging ESD "strikes". California Micro Devices' CM1220 application specific ESD solution provides ±15kV protection from contact discharges, a level that greatly exceeds the IEC61000-4-2 Level 4 standard. Their low capacitance makes them ideal for protecting high speed I/O ports, such as LCD and camera data interfaces, with a high level of ESD protection while preserving signal integrity.

CSP Form Factor and Cost Savings
California Micro Devices' new protection array also features a high level of integration in a low profile form factor (CSP), for a space savings of up to 50% versus discrete implementations. California Micro Devices' single chip Application Specific Integrated Passive™ (ASIP™ ) devices offer customers the ability to significantly reduce their total cost of ownership while facilitating design and manufacturability, and improving time-to-market.

Pricing and Availability
The Centurion™ CM1220 ESD protection arrays are currently sampling, and are priced at $0.33 and $0.49 each in 1,000 units for the CM1220-04 and CM1220-08 devices respectively. Volume production is scheduled for April 2005. Lead free versions are available as part of California Micro Devices’ efforts to provide environmentally friendly products to its customers. The available proprietary OptiGuard™ coating also ensures durability during the manufacturing process.
